Kinectimals has been one of our number 3 son’s favourite games for a while now. I love it because it makes physical activity fun, and for a boy who isn’t into sports that’s really quite important.  However he loves it for a lot of other reasons so I’ll let him tell you why in his own words:

“I like getting to play with animals! You get a choice of a Royal Bengal Tiger, Black Panther, South African Lion Cub, and a Sabre Tooth cub later on in the game.  In fact you find lots of other animals as you play the game.

You can train your animal to sit, lay down, play dead, barrel roll, jump, stand on hind legs and ofter things.  You have to do all of these movements yourself a certain amount of times until your animal copies you.  Sometimes your animal brings you things to play with. If you want to stroke your animal you need to go into the toy box and choose the paw brush from care items.  This makes your animal purr and sometimes they try to lick your face but the screen stops them from touching you with their tongue!

Every time you do something like contests with your animal you get points.  There are 5 areas on the map where you have to do 5 contests in each place. This earns you money and prizes.  The money can be used to buy stuff from a shop next to your house.

The house in your game is only good for visiting and decorating, you don’t sleep in it or anything. Your animals lives in your house.  If you go to Fur Town’s bonding circle you can swap your animal for another one. You can only have one animal at a time.

There is a little cute tiger striped boy fairy that guides you around the game and gives you hints on how to do stuff. All the animals are SO cute and some times they try to jump up on you and sometimes they sneeze in your face. They look very cute when they do that.

Kinectimals – I love it, love it, love it!”
